Margarethe Steiff 1848–1909
Officially founded in Giengen an der Brenz as Steiff Manufacture in 1880 on the vision and hard work of Margarete Steiff, Margarete Steiff GmbH is the oldest, most famous and well-known teddy bear and plush animal manufacturer in the world.
Steiff bears and animals are hand-made in Germany with the world wide renowned and unique Button in Ear trademark (Knopf im Ohr), which stands for quality, richness of ideas and entrepreneurial spirit.
I am not an official Steiff retailer. All Steiff bears and other animals on this web-site are part of a private (grown-up) collection and are sold on the secondary market.
They all come from a non-smoking and pet-free environment. They are all in perfect or mint condition unless noted.
Being older and discontinued editions they are very rare and hard to find. Most of them are limited editions with the white tag in ear.
The prices are often set according to the Steiff Values Reference Database.
Note that these bears and other animals are collector's items.
