Elgporslin – Royal Swedish Wedding 1976 – King Carl XVI Gustaf & Silvia Queen of Sweden – Set of 2 Collector Plates – Limited edition – Photo-engraving
Elgporslin of Sweden is a well-known Swedish porcelain manufacturer specializing in mainly collector's items. Established in 1965 by father and son Elg, the company specialized early in the technique of transferring décors to porcelain and ceramics. From the middle of the 1970s and onwards the company was the leading manufacturer in Sweden for wall plates and in great demand by the internationally leading collector's item companies such as Bradford Exchange in Switzerland and AnnaPerenna in New Rochelle, NY, USA.
Set of 2 porcelain collector plates commemorating the Royal Swedish Wedding Year 1976 between King Carl XVI Gustaf and Miss Silvia Sommerlath (future Silvia Queen of Sweden). Made in Sweden by Swedish porcelain manufacturer Elgporslin. Limited edition of 2,400 pieces. This is # 136. Authentic Elgporslin, Sweden on backside. Photo-engraving.
The photo-engraving is made after a photo taken by Court Photographer Lennart Nilsson. All by approval of His Majesty the King of Sweden (written on backside). The pictures are made in an attractive royal blue colour on white.
This royal memorabilia set is extremely rare. It comes mint in box. There are no chips, cracks, scratches or other damage.
A small label is attached on the backside of both plates, telling the name and address of the original retailer in Stockholm, Sweden. The retailer does not exist any longer, as far as I know.)
The box has a royal blue coloured lid with the royal emblem printed on it. The plates are displayed on red. Apart from a minor scratch on the lid, the box comes in very good condition.
A great collector's item.
Note that the red and white spots are due to the camera-flash.
Price: € 95.00.
