Orrefors – Notre Dame – No. 1 – Year 1970 – Famous Places of Worship Annual Series

Notre Dame. This is the first plate in the annual series Famous Places of Worship (sometimes referred to as Historical Churches of the World) by Swedish world renowned glass manufacturer Orrefors. It was made in 1970. Every detail of the engraving is filled with pure gold. Designer John Selbing at Orrefors was responsible for the development of the plate, as well as the process by which the design is engraved in the crystal. 

The Cathedral of Notre Dame is situated in the very heart of Paris, on one of the islands in the Seine River. Pope Alexander III laid the cornerstone in 1163 and the Cathedral was completed 150 years later.

Measure Ø 25 cm / 9,84 inches. The plate comes in excellent to perfect condition. The box (black bottom, gold inside, plastic lid) comes in very good condition. 

Included with the plate is a separate wooden display frame. It comes in very good condition. The gold-coloured box's lid is missing.

This is a very elegant collectible.
