"Fireside Tales" – Wedgwood – The Wind in the Willows Collector Plate

Art by Eric Kincaid and authentic Wedgwood Bone China, Made in England on back. Eric Kincaid signature on front. This plate has the number "38" engraved on back. On the backside there is also a quotation from the famous children's novel The Wind in the Willows by British author Kenneth Grahame:

"When they got home, the Rat made a bright fire in the parlour, and planted Mole in an arm-chair in front of it, having fetched down a dressing-gown and slippers for him, and told him river stories till supper-time. Very thrilling stories they were, too, to an earth-dwelling animal like Mole. Stories about weirs, and sudden floods, and leaping pike, and night-fishing with Otter, or excursions far afield with Badger."

This lovely plate depicts the scene. Ratty and Mole are sitting in arm-chairs in front of the fire in Rats nice and cosy sitting-room. There is a certain care for detail. The colours are vivid and artist Eric Kincaid knows how to convey the atmosphere of this great classic story.

The plate comes in perfect condition. There is no box and no hanging device.

Price: € 49.50.
