"The Carol Singers" – Wedgwood – The Wind in the Willows Collector Plate

Art by Eric Kincaid and authentic Wedgwood Bone China, Made in England on back. Eric Kincaid signature on front. This plate has the number "43" engraved on back. There is also a label saying "Quality approved. Inspector no 9". On the backside there is also a quotation from the famous children's novel The Wind in the Willows by British author Kenneth Grahame:

"In the fore-court, lite by the dim rays of a horn lantern, some eight or ten little field mice stood in a semicircle, red worsted comforters round their throats, their forepaws thrust deep into their pockets, their feet jigging for warmth. As the door opened, their shrill little voices uprose on the air, singing one of the old-time carols."

This lovely plate depicts the scene. Rat and Mole are standing in the doorway holding a paraffin lamp and enjoying the little field mice carol singing. There is a certain care for detail. The colours are vivid and artist Eric Kincaid knows how to convey the atmosphere of this great classic story.

The plate comes in perfect condition. There is no box and no hanging device.

Price: € 49.50.
