"The Wild Wood" – Wedgwood – The Wind in the Willows Collector Plate

Art by Eric Kincaid and authentic Wedgwood Bone China, Made in England on back. Eric Kincaid signature on front. A red label on the back says "INSP 3". There is also a quotation on the backside from the famous children's novel The Wind in the Willows by British author Kenneth Grahame:

"In the side of what had seemed to be a snow-bank stood a solid-looking little door, painted a dark green. An iron bell-pull hung by the side, and below it, on a small brass plate, neatly engraved in square capital letters, they could read by the aid of moonlight: MR. BADGER. The Mole fell backwards on the snow from sheer surprise and delight. 'Rat!' he cried in penitence, 'you're a wonder!'"

This lovely plate depicts the scene. Mr. Badger's little green door hidden in the snow. Mole is sitting in the snow, his hat has fallen off. Ratty is just about to knock on the door. There is a certain care for detail. The colours are vivid and artist Eric Kincaid knows how to convey the atmosphere of this great classic story.

The plate comes in perfect condition. There is no box and no hanging device.

Price: € 49.50.
