Silver Medal – Carl XVI Gustaf & Silvia – The Swedish Royal Wedding – Year 1976
Hallmark Silver Medal commemorating the Swedish Royal Wedding between Carl XVI Gustaf, King of Sweden, and Miss Silvia Sommerlath, on June 19, 1976. The medal was designed by former head engraver at the Swedish Mint, Mr. Léo Holmgren, Sweden. Made in Sweden by AB Sporrong.
Limited edition of 4,000 pieces. This is No. 1566.
Number in consecutive order/issue is stamped on the edge as well as hallmark, manufacturer and Swedish control stamp B10 (=year 1976). After the emission the punches are destroyed under supervision of Notarius Publicus, after which no further issues are possible.
On one side are Their Royal Highnesses portraits in profile, on the other is a standing Cupid with bow an arrow.
The medal is measuring approx. 4,4 cm / 1,73 inches. It comes in mint condition in wooden box with certificate (in Swedish).
