Instead of buying wrapping paper, repurpose what you have in the house and wrap your presents in magazine and newspaper pages, old posters or paper bags. Decorate and add your personal touch to it. By doing this you cut down on waste and save resources, and your friends will enjoy your creativity.
Be super-trendy and eco-friendly by using an old-fashioned handkerchief instead of paper napkins. A soft cloth could be reused over and over again (just make sure to wash it properly). Make your own and personalize it. Wear it with pride!
Swap your old incandescent bulbs for compact fluorescent bulbs. The extra cost you pay for each bulb will pay for itself in mere months and prevent hundreds of pounds of power-plant emissions over the bulb's lifetime.
Instead of sending old rugs, towels, blankets and sheets to the landfill, talk with your local animal shelters to see if they can use them.
Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth. That will save lots of water.
...to be continued :-)
